Updated June 06,2025
longmeadow,Mass. — JGS Lifecare will hold its 44th annual Frankel-Kinsler Classic Day of Tournaments on June 16 at Twin Hills Country Club. The event aims to raise funds for enhanced programming and services for the organization’s elder care programs.
The classic features golf, pickleball, bridge, canasta, and mahjong tournaments. Last year’s event raised over $111,000 thru sponsorships, donations, and player registrations.
The tournament is named in memory of michael Frankel, a former JGS board chairman, and in honor of the Raymond and Herman Kinsler families, who have long supported JGS Lifecare.
Susan Halpern, vice president of Development at JGS Lifecare, said the Frankel and Kinsler families have provided unusual leadership. She added that the tournament pays tribute to them and helps continue their legacy of caring.
JGS Lifecare, like many elder care organizations, faces financial challenges due to insufficient government funding and rising costs. The Frankel-Kinsler Classic serves as a vital source of community support to bridge this gap.
Golf registration begins at 11 a.m., with tee-off at noon. The $275 entry fee includes golf, lunch, dinner, and an ice cream sundae bar. Golfers can participate in hole-in-one contests and a raffle. Charity Golf International offers a chance to win a $5,000 dream golf getaway.
“The Frankel and Kinsler families have provided extraordinary leadership over the years to JGS Lifecare,” said Susan Halpern, vice president of Development at JGS Lifecare. “This tournament is a tribute to them and helps us continue their extraordinary legacy of caring and good deeds.”
