Frankfort High School’s football team secured a 37-13 victory over Northern Garrett on Friday night, extending its school record for wins and tying the area record for consecutive victories at 32, a mark previously established by Fort Hill between 2015 and 2017.
Frankfort Extends Win Streak on Ground Game
The top-ranked Falcons dominated the first half of Friday’s matchup to build an unassailable lead. Braydn Tyler led the offensive effort with 106 rushing yards on just four carries, punching in three touchdowns, including a long run of 67 yards. Gunnar Bradshaw and Peyton Brittingham also added rushing scores for Frankfort. As a team, the Falcons churned out 262 rushing yards, with 10 different players logging at least one carry. Quarterback Austin Twigg played efficiently, completing all four of his passing attempts for 48 yards. Brady Eirich hauled in a 27-yard reception, while Bradshaw contributed a 15-yard catch. With the loss, Northern Garrett dropped to 1-2. Frankfort advances to face No. 3 Mountain Ridge in Frostburg on Friday at 6:30 p.m.
Keyser Routs Hampshire in Homecoming Matchup
At Alumni Field, No. 4 Keyser relied on a massive ground attack to overwhelm Hampshire 44-12 on Friday. The Golden Tornado improved to 4-1 after building a commanding 30-0 advantage by halftime. Addison Brafford paced the Keyser rushing offense with 103 yards, and Cole Holland chipped in another 87 yards on the ground. Quarterback Deacon Stanislawczyk contributed through the air, completing three of seven passes for 59 yards and a touchdown strike to Maddox Tysinger covering 21 yards. Kicker Cayden Larkin had a flawless performance on special teams, converting all three of his field goal attempts and all five point-after tries. Keyser returns home to host Weir on Friday at 7 p.m. for its upcoming game.
Petersburg Overcomes Halftime Deficit Against Moorefield
In Moorefield, Petersburg pulled off a dramatic 39-35 comeback victory after trailing 29-17 at the intermission. The Vikings outscored the Yellow Jackets 22-6 over the final two quarters, sealing the win with two fourth-quarter touchdowns. The victory brings Petersburg’s record to 2-2, while Moorefield slips to 3-2. Petersburg hosts Doddridge County on Friday at 7 p.m., while Moorefield is idle.
