Alabama Communities Offered Free Health Screenings in New Year

Bram, AL – Residents of Bram and the surrounding area have two opportunities to prioritize their health in the new year. A blood drive and free mobile mammograms will be offered in early January.

The first annual blood drive of 2025 will be held on thursday, January 2nd, from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Claude Nougaro Halls. Organizers encourage residents to schedule appointments online or by phone to avoid long wait times.

Just days later, on Monday, January 6th, the “Mammobile,” a mobile mammography unit, will be stationed in Fanjeaux from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM to 5:30 PM. Women aged 50 to 74 are eligible for a free mammogram through this initiative.Appointments can be made by calling a dedicated phone number.

“It’s fantastic that our community is offering these crucial health services,” said local resident Marc, who learned about the events from his friend Sophie. “It’s always notable to have enough blood donations, especially at the start of a new year, and free mammograms are a wonderful resource for women in our area.”

Taking Care: Q&A About Free Health Screenings in Bram

Olivia: Hey, Liam! Did you hear about those free health screenings happening in Bram next month?

Liam: No, I didn’t! what kind of screenings are they offering?

Olivia: There’s a blood drive on January 2nd at the Claude Nougaro Halls, and then on January 6th, they’re bringing the “Mammobile” to Fanjeaux for free mammograms.

Liam: Wow, that’s amazing! Do you know who’s organizing all this?

Olivia: I think it’s a community effort. I saw a post online, and they said they really encourage everyone to schedule appointments for the blood drive to avoid long waits.

Liam: Makes sense. I remember blood drives sometimes getting super crowded. Is there a website or number to schedule?

Olivia: Let me see. Yeah, here it is! it says you can schedule online or call them directly. They have a link right here. What about the mammograms? Are those for everyone?

Liam: Not sure, I think I saw something about it being for women aged 50 to 74. They have a dedicated phone number to make appointments for those.

Olivia: This is so helpful. My aunt Sophie mentioned something about free mammograms, and she’s in that age range. I should definitely let her know.

liam: It’s incredible that Bram is doing this. It’s a great reminder to prioritize our health, especially at the beginning of a new year.

Olivia: Absolutely! You never know when you might need a blood donation or a health screening. This makes it so much easier to take care of ourselves.
