Free Homecoming Bus Trips Available, Registration Opens March 1st

Jakarta – Free bus trips for homecoming are once again available this year! Registration for the free homecoming program from the Directorate General of Land Transportation of the Ministry of Transportation opens on March 1, 2026.

A total of 401 buses are being prepared for the free homecoming program, with a total capacity of 15,834 passengers. This free transportation facility will be available for both the outbound and return journeys.

“Registration will open on March 1, 2026, online through the nusantara.kemenhub.go.id website. Registration will close when all quotas have been filled,” said Director General of Land Transportation Aan Suhanan in a written statement on Wednesday, February 25, 2026.

Registration for the free homecoming trip can be done by accessing the Free Homecoming Website on the official website. Then, click “register now” and complete user registration. After that, prospective passengers can choose the schedule and route of the free homecoming trip.

Following that, participants fill in the data for those who want to carry out the free homecoming. Finally, verify the free homecoming registration at the time and address listed.

This year’s free road transportation homecoming program is available to 34 destination cities in 10 provinces, including Palembang, Lampung, Bengkulu, Padang, Medan, Aceh, Garut, Tasikmalaya, Cirebon, Kuningan, Semarang, Solo, Yogyakarta, Wonogiri, Purwokerto, Tegal, Pekalongan, Demak, Boyolali, Klaten, Pati, Blora, Cilacap, Wonosobo, Kebumen, Magelang, Wonosari, Jepara, Sragen, Madiun, Surabaya, Tuban, Malang and Tulungagung.

For the return flow, departures are from 12 cities in 8 provinces, including Kuningan, Madiun, Surabaya, Palembang, Padang, Medan, Aceh, Semarang, Solo, Yogyakarta, Wonogiri, and Purwokerto.

“we are also providing 8 truck units for transporting motorcycles for homecoming travelers who will return to their villages by motorcycle. These trucks can accommodate 240 motorcycles,” Aan explained.

Cities on the outbound and return flows that are accompanied by motorcycle transportation are Solo, Yogyakarta, Wonogiri and Purwokerto.

Departure Schedule

Aan further explained that the departure times for the outbound flow are divided into three days in five locations, namely on March 16, 2026, from the Pondok Cabe Terminal in South Tangerang, March 17, 2026, from the Jatijajar Terminal in Depok and the Pulogebang Terminal in Jakarta. Meanwhile, on March 18, 2026, there will be departures from the Kampung Rambutan Terminal in Jakarta and the Poris Plawad Terminal in Tangerang.

For buses on the return flow, departures are carried out on March 25, 2026, from the Bulupitu Terminal in Purwokerto, the Mangkang Terminal in Semarang, the Giwangan Terminal in Yogyakarta, the Tirtonandi Terminal in Solo, the Giri Adipura Terminal in Wonogiri, the Kertawangunan Terminal in Kuningan, the Purboyo Terminal in Madiun, the Bungurasih Terminal in Surabaya, the Alang-Alang Lebar Terminal in Palembang, the Anak Air Terminal in Padang, the Amplas Terminal in Medan, and the Batoh Terminal in Aceh.

“We also ensure that the homecoming buses that will be dispatched have carried out safety inspections or ramp checks. This is done to ensure and guarantee the condition of the buses and drivers are in prime condition so that all passengers are expected to arrive safely and comfortably at their hometowns,” Aan added.

Motorcycle deliveries for the outbound flow will take place on March 16, 2026, at the Pondok Cabe Terminal in South Tangerang and will depart on the evening of March 16, 2026, from the same location.
