The cold front season is causing a significant drop in temperatures across Mexico. Conagua predicts temperatures as low as -15 degrees Celsius in several states. There is one particular day when you will need to bundle up.
According to the National Meteorological Service (SMN), the low temperatures are due to the passage of the tenth cold front through the country. A low-pressure channel in the west and south, combined with moisture from the Pacific Ocean, is impacting the weather.
These conditions will lead to minimum temperatures of -15 to -10 degrees Celsius with frost in mountainous areas of Durango and heavy localized rain in Oaxaca.
When to Expect Frost in Mexico?
A new cold front will enter northwest Mexico on Wednesday, interacting with a dry line in the northern region. This will bring strong winds and possible dust storms in Baja California, Sonora, Chihuahua, and Durango.
The lowest temperatures (between -10 and -5 °C) with frost will occur in the mountainous regions of Chihuahua and Durango overnight into Thursday.

- Maximum Temperatures of 30 to 35 °C: Baja California Sur, southern Sonora, Durango, Coahuila, Nuevo León, Tamaulipas, Morelos, coastal Chiapas, Campeche, and Yucatán.
- Minimum Temperatures of -5 to 0 °C with Frost for Thursday Morning: Mountain areas in Baja California, Sonora, Guanajuato, Michoacán, State of Mexico, Tlaxcala, Puebla, Hidalgo, Veracruz, and Oaxaca.
- Minimum Temperatures of 0 to 5 °C for Thursday Morning: The mountainous regions of Coahuila, Nuevo León, San Luis Potosí, Zacatecas, Aguascalientes, Jalisco, Querétaro, Mexico City, Morelos, and Chiapas.
