French market research startup Verso has secured 6 million dollars in seed funding to expand its artificial intelligence-driven customer interview platform internationally, frenchweb.fr reported. The financing round, equal to approximately 5.4 million euros at the European Central Bank reference rate of October 8, 2026, was led by Angular Ventures with participation from 100in, Kima Ventures, Olympe Capital, Sharpstone Capital, and a group of business angels.
Verso Raises 5.4 Million Euros in Seed Funding
Founded in 2025 by Lydia Bellahouel and Camille Epitalon with support from Hexa, Verso automates qualitative consumer research through AI-driven video and voice interviews. The platform recruits participants, conducts individual exchanges with adaptive follow-up questions, and synthesizes results into an accessible knowledge base. More than thirty enterprises, including Ferrero, Orange, and Michelin, currently use the platform.
Founders Combine Expertise in Consulting and AI Systems
Lydia Bellahouel graduated from HEC and spent seven years at the BCG working on marketing transformation and innovation. Co-founder Camille Epitalon holds a double degree from Polytechnique and HEC Paris and previously worked on product development and AI systems at CO2 AI. Bellahouel noted in a March interview with Market Research News that the startup collaborates with independent specialists to frame studies and maintains traceability by allowing clients to review original transcripts, videos, and verbatims.
International Competitors Automate Qualitative Research
Verso enters a competitive global market where several technology companies are automating consumer interviews and analysis. San Francisco-based Outset combines adaptive video, voice, and text exchanges with recruitment tools and automated analysis. Danish platform GetWhy integrates study design, recruitment, video interviews, and reporting for major brands. Meanwhile, Salesforce announced an agreement on September 29 to acquire Listen Labs, another San Francisco startup that automates study preparation and synthesis.
Expansion Plans Target US Market and AI Agents
Verso plans to use the new capital to integrate additional data sources, including quantitative metrics and social media conversations, and build access for enterprise AI agents. The company also aims to expand internationally, specifically into the United States, and recruit engineering and sales personnel to scale its operations.
