French Connection: Plurien and Commune 2 Forge Unbreakable Bond Across the Miles
Gulf Municipality 2 Seeks International Partnerships for Community Development
The Gulf Municipality 2 is working to establish partnerships with European cities, starting with the town of Plurien in Brittany, France, to enhance its Community Development Plan (CDP) and improve living conditions for its residents.
This partnership, facilitated by Afrique Performe, a Beninese company specializing in cultural and tourism policy issues, will provide the municipality with financial, economic, and technical resources for greater efficiency and results.
A work session will be held on September 20, 2024, at the Golfe 2 Town Hall in Lomé, between the cabinet and the first officials of the municipality, to explore ways and means of developing a partnership project with the French cultural and tourist commune.
According to Komi Edoh, 1st deputy and temporary interim, the Gulf Municipality 2 is seeking to move to another dimension related to decentralized cooperation, recognizing that no municipality can live in isolation and must partner with others to obtain necessary resources.
“We believe that this partnership will allow us to have the financial, economic, and technical resources necessary to strengthen the position of our employees for greater efficiency and results on the ground,” Edoh explained.
The company’s presentation, its experiences with other municipalities, and strategies to attract funding will be discussed during the meeting.
“We will draw inspiration from these experiences, adapt it to the reality of the Gulf municipality 2, and see what connection we can make with this company and our PDC,” Edoh concluded.
