Morocco’s tourism sector is currently navigating a period of challenges, including a decline in European arrivals, but anticipates a rebound with projected growth by 2026, driven by investments in infrastructure and strategic initiatives to attract diverse tourist segments.
Decline in European Tourist arrivals
A recent report indicates a decrease in the number of European tourists visiting Morocco. This decline is attributed to various factors, including economic conditions in key European markets and increased competition from other Mediterranean destinations. The Moroccan Ministry of Tourism is actively working to address this issue through targeted marketing campaigns and diversification of source markets.
Investment in Tourism Infrastructure
The Moroccan government is investing heavily in upgrading tourism infrastructure to enhance the visitor experience and attract higher-spending tourists. This includes improvements to airports, roads, and hotels, as well as the advancement of new tourism products and experiences.
