Alfie Hewett Reaches French Open Wheelchair Final

Alfie Hewett, Grate Britain’s star wheelchair tennis player, advanced to the French Open wheelchair singles final after a hard-fought victory over argentina’s Gustavo Fernandez. The second-seeded Hewett overcame Fernandez 4-6, 6-4, 7-6 (12-10) in a match that lasted two hours and 46 minutes.
Hewett, a seasoned player with 10 Grand Slam singles titles and three French Open titles already under his belt, had not dropped a set in his previous two matches. Though, Fernandez proved to be a formidable opponent, pushing Hewett to his limits.
In the final, Hewett will face world number one Tokito Oda. The Japanese star secured his place in the final by defeating Martin de la Puente in straight sets, 6-4, 6-4.
Adding to his busy schedule, Hewett was also slated to compete in the men’s wheelchair doubles final alongside fellow Briton Gordon Reid. Their match, originally scheduled for Friday, has been moved to Saturday.
Hewett and Reid, the defending champions in Paris for the past five years, will compete against Oda and Stephane Houdet of france for the doubles title.

Alfie Hewett will aim to add another Grand Slam title to his collection as he faces Tokito oda in the french Open wheelchair singles final. He will also partner with Gordon Reid in the doubles final, seeking to continue their reign in Paris.
