Its anime counterpart has also garnered significant attention, with Season 2 currently in production following the highly prosperous first season that aired from September 2023 to March 2024. Anime Arrival: India Gears Up for Major Convention
India’s burgeoning anime scene is set to reach new heights with the inaugural large-scale anime convention, Anime India, scheduled to take place from August 22nd to 24th at Mumbai’s NESCO Bombay Exhibition Center. The event is expected to draw a significant portion of the country’s estimated 100 million Japanese anime enthusiasts.
A major highlight of Anime India will be the first-ever visit to india by renowned animation director Tetsuro Araki. Known for his directorial work on iconic series such as “Attack on Titan” and “Death Note,” Araki will serve as the keynote guest, offering invaluable insights into the world of anime production.
Adding to the star-studded lineup, Hideo Katsumata, president of Avex Pictures-the company behind popular titles like “Black Clover” and the Crunchyroll Anime Awards winner “Look Back”-will also be in attendance. He will be joined by Susumu Fukunaga, a corporate officer from The Pokémon Company, at the concurrent animation & More Summit.
