Director Moon Eun-soo: A Life of Sharing and Social Success

Moon Eun-soo, Director of‍ Moon Dental Hospital,‌ has been a regular donor to the Red Cross since November‌ 2022. He has also been supporting the tuition of vulnerable groups such as multicultural families, basic livelihood recipients, and children⁣ of North Korean defectors in the Chungnam region.

Director Moon Eun-soo of Moon Dental Hospital in Cheonan, South Chungcheong Province, is being interviewed by Maeil Kyungjae.

Director ‌Moon has provided scholarships worth 600 million won to approximately 2,000 students since 2011. He has ‍also been providing free medical care to inmates at the Cheonan Open Prison for over 30 years. In an ‍interview, Director Moon said, “I‌ would ‌be really happy if I heard that the world became a little brighter because of me.”

Despite his difficult childhood,⁤ Director Moon has lived a life of sharing and social success. He recalled, “I was ⁤extremely poor when I was young,” and‌ “I realized how desperately someone needs a helping hand.” He didn’t even have money to pay his elementary school ⁢tuition dues because he was poor as a child.

Director Moon’s experiences ⁤have shaped his desire to help others. He established the non-profit organization ‘Blue ⁤Moon Dream’ and provides digital and software education to 100 college and graduate school students in the Cheonan area. He‍ also selects four students after the education to provide‌ internship opportunities in Silicon ‌Valley in the United States.

Director⁢ Moon’s⁤ philosophy is to‌ provide support that can help young people succeed.‍ He said, “It’s not about providing ⁢a ton of support, but rather, if ⁣there‌ are ⁣10 stepping stones to success, it’s like providing the eighth‌ stepping stone for young people.” He hopes that ⁣these successful young people will share more‍ and create a ‘virtuous cycle.’

Director Moon’s Story

Director Moon’s journey to becoming a successful dentist and philanthropist was not easy. He lived on flour rations from ‍the government every month due to his family’s poor financial situation. He recalled the summer when he would sweat profusely and pull a ⁣cart to the local government office, which was over 6 km‍ away.

Despite the challenges, Director Moon persevered and worked hard to achieve his goals. He began his volunteer work in‌ earnest after becoming a dentist. Starting with medical service at Cheonan Open Prison, he continued his volunteer work in the Philippines, Mongolia, China, and ⁣other places.

A Virtuous ‌Cycle‍ of Sharing

Director Moon’s story is an inspiration to many.‍ His commitment to sharing and social success has created a virtuous cycle of giving and receiving. He hopes that his story will inspire‍ others to do the same and create a brighter future for all.
