Michael Prasad: From Banker to Fitness Center Owner
Michael Prasad, 34, transformed his career from banking to entrepreneurship by founding Evolve Fitness. His goal is to inspire people to prioritize health for a better life.
Prasad left his banking job before the COVID-19 pandemic. The pandemic forced his gym to close temporarily. With his wife’s support, he reopened a small studio on Carnavon Street in Suva. The small studio later expanded into a new gym with modern equipment on Raojibhai Patel Street.
Prasad stresses the importance of health, particularly due to the rise in non-communicable diseases (NCDs). He aims to impact lives positively through fitness. He hopes to open another gym in a different location if given the chance.
The Ministry of Health in Fiji states that NCDs significantly affect the population, causing 80% of all deaths and 40% of premature deaths.
Prasad encourages everyone to make fitness a daily part of life. His main passions are staying fit and helping others.
Evolve Fitness operates from 5 AM to 8 PM on weekdays, 7 AM to 6 PM on Saturdays, and 8 AM to 4 PM on Sundays and public holidays.
