A 58-Year-Old Woman’s Surprising Health Results from Eating Only Boiled Corn

Aunt Hua Fang, a 58-year-old retired primary school teacher from Zhejiang Province, China, made headlines on social media for her unusual diet. For a year, she ate boiled corn for all three meals every day, believing it was beneficial for her health.

Aunt Hua Fang had a passion for corn and discovered its benefits over a year ago. She added corn to her daily diet, consuming it for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. She believed that corn, rich in fiber, vitamins, and minerals, would promote health and prevent chronic diseases.

The Health Check-Up

After maintaining this diet for a year, Aunt Hua Fang’s son took her to a hospital in Zhejiang for a check-up. The blood test results revealed that her blood sugar level was higher than normal.

The Doctor’s Explanation

Aunt Hua Fang was shocked by the test results. She told the doctor, “I’ve only eaten boiled corn for the past year. I thought eating a lot of fiber would help control blood sugar levels.” The doctor explained that while corn contains fiber, vitamins, and antioxidants, it is also rich in starch. Consuming excessive corn in the long term can increase blood sugar levels and lead to a deficiency of other essential nutrients.

A New Diet Plan

The doctor advised Aunt Hua Fang to eat a variety of fruits and vegetables, supplemented with protein from legumes, lean meat, fish, and seafood. This would provide her body with complete nutrition and effectively increase immunity. The doctor also recommended increasing her intake of foods with antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, such as tomatoes, berries, and green leafy vegetables.

Aunt Hua Fang was advised to increase physical activity, such as walking and yoga, to improve her physical health. Meditation was also suggested to relieve stress and improve sleep quality.

A Healthier Outcome

After following the doctor’s recommended diet plan for two months, Aunt Hua Fang returned to the hospital for another check-up. The test results showed that her blood sugar level had returned to normal. Aunt Hua Fang was satisfied with the results and thanked the doctors at Zhejiang Hospital for their guidance.
