From Corporate Secretary to Fish Shop Owner: Asana Mori’s Inspiring Story

Asana Mori, a 38-year-old woman from Nagoya, Japan, has made headlines with her remarkable journey from being a secretary to the president of a large company to saving her father’s fish shop and expanding it into a successful business.

Asana graduated from Japan’s prestigious Waseda University Department of International Education and later earned a degree from the Oakland University Graduate School of Business in the United States. She then joined a large e-commerce company, where she served as secretary to the president.

However, in 2010, Asana’s life took a dramatic turn when she heard about her father’s deteriorating health. Despite her father’s opposition, she decided to take over his fish shop and apply the business skills she had learned from her previous job.

Asana’s big break came when she started performing her own tuna dismemberment show, which made her famous. Her fish shop was also hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic, but she made a breakthrough with her ‘Fish Omakase’ service, which delivers fresh fish daily. This service was so popular that it received up to 2,000 orders a day.

Today, Asana’s fish shop has expanded to 12 branches, and she continues to accelerate her business expansion by introducing fried fish restaurants and burgers. Her inspiring story is a testament to her determination and entrepreneurial spirit.

Asana’s journey is a reminder that sometimes, taking a risk and pursuing a new path can lead to unexpected success and fulfillment.
