From Debate to Unity: Trump and He Jinli Put Aside Differences at 9/11 Commemoration Event
US Presidential Candidates Put Aside Differences to Commemorate 9/11 Anniversary
Today marks the 23rd anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks in the United States. US Republican presidential candidate Trump and his opponent Kamala Harris attended the commemoration event in New York, temporarily putting aside their political differences to shake hands and exchange greetings.
Trump, Harris, President Biden, former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg, Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer, and Republican Vice Presidential Candidate JD Vance were among the political figures who appeared at the ”Ground Zero” site to participate in commemorative activities.
Despite their heated presidential debate the previous night, Trump and Harris shook hands and exchanged pleasantries during the 9/11 commemoration event. Harris took the initiative to shake hands with Trump, as she did at the beginning of the debate. Biden witnessed the second handshake between the two shortly after the debate.
In front of a white marble monument at the scene, Biden gently placed his hand on a wreath to pay tribute to the 40 people who died in the 9/11 plane crash. Twenty-three years ago, Al-Qaeda launched a terrorist attack on New York City on September 11, killing nearly 3,000 people, and hijacked a plane and crashed it into the World Trade Center.
At the commemoration event, the wives, husbands, brothers, sisters, and grandchildren of those who lost their lives in the September 11 incident read out the names of their deceased family members, creating a solemn atmosphere.
Commemorating the Victims of 9/11
The 9/11 terrorist attacks resulted in the loss of nearly 3,000 lives, leaving behind families and loved ones who continue to grieve and remember their loved ones. The commemoration event serves as a reminder of the importance of unity and solidarity in the face of adversity.
A Moment of Unity Amidst Political Differences
Despite their differences, Trump and Harris put aside their political rivalry to come together and commemorate the victims of 9/11. This moment of unity serves as a reminder that, even in the midst of intense political debates, there is still room for respect and civility.
