The group is a 501(c)(3) organization with a membership base that extends across the United States and Europe. The upcoming trip to Edinburgh is intended to celebrate the tradition and rich heritage of tartan.
Karen Bachler, Chair of the Board of Trustees, stated that the Krewe of Europa is the first and only international krewe of its kind. She noted that the organization has marched in parades across the globe, with locations spanning from Pernik, Bulgaria, to Juneau, Alaska.

The Krewe has participated in carnivals and parades worldwide, celebrating cultures, traditions, and history while sharing the American krewe experience with the world,
The organization draws its inspiration from the Age of Discovery, also referred to as the Age of Exploration. This transformative period of European history lasted from the 15th to the 19th centuries, and the Krewe aims to embody a global spirit of cultural connection through its activities.
In addition to the appearance in Edinburgh, the Tampa-based organization is scheduled to participate in the 2026 Boston St Patrick’s parade.
