From Mountain Stray to Monastery Miracle: Will This Abandoned Dog Find Forever Home at Po Lin
Girl Abandoned as a Mountain Dog Returns to Po Lin Monastery
Two dogs, ”Big Sister” and “Xin Mei,” were abandoned and abused by the chef of Po Lin Monastery. After being missing for 29 days, the younger sister has finally been found and returned to Po Lin Monastery. The whereabouts of the older sister are still unknown.
Roni Wong, an animal rights activist, visited the younger sister at Po Lin Monastery and described her as very docile. However, he expressed concern that the female kitchen supervisor suspected of inciting abandonment and abuse of dogs still has a job, and he hopes that the temple can discuss the future placement of the younger sister.
Roni said that Xi Mei has a docile personality and is very thin. From observation, she is very familiar with the kitchen and the surrounding environment. She knows where the water bowl is placed and how to reach different places. Roni also stated that Xi Mei has enough space to move and feels comfortable.
Roni hopes that everyone can give her little sister a peaceful life. If they see her, just say hello or watch her from afar, and don’t rush to visit her, which would hinder the functioning of the temple and might scare her little sister.
The cause of the accident was the elder and younger sisters who lived in Po Lin Monastery. It was suspected that the kitchen director was dissatisfied with them and ordered two male chefs to throw away their heads in bags on August 13.
