San Antonio is facing a damp and cool Easter weekend, with a cold front bringing rain and significantly lower temperatures to the region.
According to reports from KSAT, the weather transition began on Friday, April 3, 2026, which saw warm temperatures in the 80s and a 20% chance of spotty afternoon showers.
Cold Front Arrival
The weather pattern shifted on Saturday, April 4, 2026. While the day started warm and humid, a cold front arrived midday or early afternoon.
The arrival of the front brought a line of showers and storms, accompanied by breezy north winds. This initial push of rain was expected to move south through the San Antonio area from late Saturday afternoon into the evening, leaving the region colder and breezier.
Easter Sunday Forecast
Conditions are expected to remain damp, cool, and breezy on Easter Sunday, April 5, 2026. Meteorologists indicate that additional disturbances in the upper levels of the atmosphere will move overhead, maintaining the possibility of further showers.
While severe weather is not expected, the placement and coverage of the rain may be hit-or-miss. High temperatures on April 5 are forecast to struggle to reach 60 degrees, remaining largely in the 50s. A stiff northerly breeze, with speeds reaching up to 30 mph, is expected to make the air feel even cooler.
Due to the likelihood of rain lingering into the afternoon, KSAT Weather Authority Meteorologists Sarah Spivey and Shelby Ebertowski recommended that residents have indoor backup plans for outdoor activities, including backyard barbecues and Easter egg hunts.
Meteorological Team
The forecast was delivered by the KSAT Weather Authority team, including meteorologist Shelby Ebertowski. Ebertowski joined the San Antonio team after working in North Dakota.
Ebertowski attended the University of North Dakota and gained professional experience as a weekend forecaster at KVLY in Fargo, North Dakota, where she worked for over two years.
