Matos’ weight loss journey began after he suffered from a range of complications, including hypertension, type 2 diabetes, and chronic pain in his back and knees. He also experienced Bell’s palsy, which paralyzed the right side of his face for three months. Obesity was identified as one of the causes of the disease, prompting Matos to take action.

To start his weight loss journey, Matos focused on improving his eating habits. He shifted his diet to include more protein-rich foods like fish and chicken, while limiting his intake of carbohydrates and processed foods. He also kept a food diary to track his calorie consumption.
