The Free Software Directory (FSD), a project of the Free Software Foundation (FSF), saw new additions and updates during a recent meeting of free software activists. These volunteers gather weekly in #fsf on Libera.Chat to enhance the directory, which catalogs useful free software for GNU-like systems.
Among the newly approved programs is Fibers, a facility for lightweight concurrency in Guile. also added was Forgejo, a self-hosted lightweight software forge. These additions expand the range of free software options available in the directory.
In addition to the new programs, several existing entries received updates. GNU Shepherd, a system service manager, and GNU MPFR, a C library for arbitrary-precision floating-point arithmetic, both had version bumps or minor edits. These software directory improvements ensure the FSD remains current and accurate.
