One of the park’s main attractions is the giant panda exhibit, where visitors can see these majestic creatures up close. The pandas, including 19-year-old Yingying, who recently gave birth to twins, are a highlight of the park and a must-see for anyone visiting.
The park also features a variety of other animals, including lesser pandas, arctic foxes, Sichuan golden monkeys, and sloths. Visitors can enter around 20 habitats for each animal and experience their natural environments, complete with temperature and humidity controls. The park emphasizes that it does not hold ”animal shows,” instead focusing on showcasing natural behaviors that can be observed in the wild.
For those looking for a more interactive experience, the park offers a variety of programs, including the “Get Closer to Animals” animal interaction experience. This program allows visitors to get up close and personal with popular animal ambassadors and learn more about the ecosystem and biodiversity.

Visitors can also take a ride on the park’s cable car, which offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains and the South China Sea. The 8-minute ride is a great way to see the park from a different perspective and take in the natural beauty of the area.
The Grand Aquarium is another highlight of the park, featuring over 200 species of marine life living in various marine habitats. Visitors can see the inside of the ocean up close through the 13m wide acrylic aquarium and aquarium dome. The sight of spotted seals cutting through the water is a must-see.
For those looking for a thrill, the park offers a variety of amusement rides, including the signature “Wild Twister” ride. This ride moves like a giant swing while spinning at high speed, offering a thrilling experience that will leave visitors screaming. Another popular ride is the “Hair Raiser,” which goes through multiple spins and accelerates to 4G (4 times gravity) and moves at a top speed of 88 km/h.
At night, the park comes alive with the “Light Gala Show,” a spectacular display of animations and fountain shows projected onto the exterior wall of the aquarium. The show, which unfolds with the theme of “Nature’s Symphony” with flames and firecrackers and music that harmonizes with the images, is a must-see.
Hong Kong Ocean Park will also host “Halloween Fest 2024” from September 7 to November 3, featuring trick or treat activities, photo zones with pumpkin monsters, limited-time game booths, and delicious Halloween-themed food. At night, the park will be illuminated with ghostly lights, and spectacular performances will light up the night sky in the foggy streets.
