Fuka Koshiba’s Heart-Wrenching Plea: ‘GO HOME’ – A Tear-Jerking Performance with a Special Co-Star, Celebrity Dog Nana
GO HOME ~ Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department Unidentified Persons Consultation Room ~ Episode 7 Review
The seventh episode of the drama “GO HOME ~ Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department Unidentified Persons Consultation Room ~” (Nippon TV) introduces a new buddy for Sakura (Fuka Koshiba), a Shiba Inu named Makoto, a “lost dog”. This unexpected duo will work together to solve the mystery of the late Chiaki (Suzuka Ohgo).
Makoto, the talented dog, shows a spectacular acting performance, particularly in his attachment to Hamano Mayumi (Mayu Miyamoto), the representative of the grooming salon. This becomes a crucial clue that leads Sakura to her relationship with the late Chiaki. As the story unfolds, it is revealed that Chiaki was a homosexual and Mayumi was his lover.
The episode tackles the theme of same-sex relationships, a topic that has been gaining attention in recent dramas, such as “Tsukuritai Onna to Tabetai Onna” (NHK General TV) and ”Chaser Game W” (TV Tokyo). The script handles the subject with care, mindful of outing from the perspective of the Unidentified Persons Consultation Center.
The scene where Sakura tearfully tells Mayumi, “That’s normal, isn’t it? It’s something you would naturally wish for,” in response to Chiaki’s thoughts of wanting to live with the three of them, highlights the struggles of same-sex couples in today’s society.
The episode also sets the stage for the next episode, which will focus on Teshima (Abe Ryohei) and his investigation. With the introduction of Makoto, Teshima becomes more enthusiastic about the case, and the audience is left wondering about the state of his love life.
