On October 25, the “2024 Hope Project·Guangfa Youth Rural Basketball Carnival” charity event kicked off at the Raoping County Sports Comprehensive Training Center. This initiative aims to create a broad exchange platform for rural teenagers who share a passion for basketball, while injecting momentum into the development of cultural and sports undertakings in Raoping County.

The event began with a captivating performance by the 24th Festival Drum Team from Raoping No. 5 Middle School. The energetic drumbeats set the tone for the 79 youth basketball teams from Raoping County, who lined up in order, showcasing their high morale. Children from Peiying Kindergarten in Raoping County added to the excitement with their lively cheerleading performances.
The inter-school basketball exchange activities between primary and secondary schools saw two youth basketball teams from Raoping County Overseas Chinese Middle School and Tian Jiabing Experimental Middle School engage in friendly matches. The atmosphere was filled with cheers and applause as the teams ran hard on the court, passed the ball, and shot hoops.
The event also included a donation of basketballs, uniforms, A-boards, and other sports training materials to 79 primary and secondary school basketball teams in the county. Furthermore, relevant units will invite FIBA first-level lecturers and national-level referees to provide training for young physical education teachers and young basketball seed players. This initiative aims to enhance the basketball level and sports literacy of rural teenagers.
This event is supported by the Guangfa Hope Charitable Fund Project of Guangfa Bank Co., Ltd., hosted by the China Youth Development Foundation, and directed by the Hubei Youth Development Foundation, Chaozhou Branch of Guangfa Bank Co., Ltd., and Raoping County’s “Hundreds and Thousands Project” Organized by the Ministry of Education’s “Double Hundred Action” special class, and co-organized by the Raoping County Committee of the Communist Youth League, Raoping County Education Bureau, and Raoping County Sports Development Center.
