The box office craze continues to sweep the nation as the professional baseball regular season comes to a close. All five stadiums were filled to capacity with enthusiastic spectators.
According to the Korea Baseball Organization (KBO), on the 28th, Suwon KT Wiz Park (Kiwoom Heroes-KT Wiz), Daejeon Hanwha Life Eagles Park (SSG Landers-Hanwha Eagles), Changwon NC Park (Doosan Bears-NC Dinos), Daegu Samsung Lions Park (LG Twins-Samsung Lions), and Busan Sajik Stadium (KIA Tigers-Lotte Giants) all reported sold-out games.
This marks the third time this season that all five stadiums have been sold out, following the season openers on March 23 and September 7. The total number of sold-out games this season stands at 217.
On the 15th, professional baseball ushered in an era of 10 million spectators for the first time in 43 years since its inception. As of today, the cumulative number of spectators for the 2024 season has reached 10,814,314.
Meanwhile, NC has achieved a new record for the largest number of spectators in a season since entering the KBO League. NC sold all 17,891 seats at 3:05 p.m. on this day, setting a new club record for the largest number of spectators in a single season with a cumulative season attendance of 731,167.
The previous club record for the largest number of spectators in one season was 710,274 people mobilized in 2019 when Changwon NC Park opened.
