Donald Trump’s False Claims Spark Bomb Threats in Ohio Town

A small town in the American Midwest is facing a series of bomb threats due to former Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump’s false claim that “immigrants eat pets.”
According to foreign media, two hospitals in Springfield, Ohio, USA were temporarily closed due to a bomb threat. This is the fourth bomb threat in Springfield recently, and on the 12th, the city hall building was closed and schools evacuated.
The controversy began when former President Trump sparked outrage by talking about a conspiracy theory that Haitian immigrants in Springfield are preying on dogs, cats, and other pets during his first televised debate with Democratic Vice Presidential candidate Kamala Harris.
Since former President Trump’s comments, there have been a series of bomb threats in Springfield, a city with a population of 58,000 that has seen an influx of 15,000 Haitian immigrants over the past three years.
“We know the past few days have been especially difficult for everyone in our community, and we are doing everything we can to ensure everyone’s safety and well-being,” Springfield police said in a statement.
Springfield Mayor Rob Lew previously refuted former President Trump’s claims, saying, “It’s not true.”
