Fyre Festival Rebrands With Hotel Experience in Honduras
Updated June 03, 2025
The Fyre Festival brand is making a comeback with Fyre Hotels, a pop-up hotel experience slated for Sept. 3-10 at Coral View Utila in Honduras. This venture surfaces after the infamous 2017 festival disaster.
According to the Fyre Hotels website, the concept originated from an incident in 2013 when founder Billy McFarland, challenged to fly a small plane from New York City to a remote Caribbean island, ran out of fuel and landed on a remote island. This sparked the idea for adventure-infused trips that eventually became Fyre Festival.
Hotel packages are now available, starting at $199.53 per day for a double occupancy room, totaling nearly $1,400 for the week. Packages include boat excursions, snorkeling, beach fitness, kayaking, beach volleyball, guided hikes, nightly entertainment, merchandise, surprise moments, and sunset cruises. The most expensive package is priced at $500 per day for two people.
The fyre Hotels website states that the pop-up experience aims to bring global attention to utila, Honduras, programming unforgettable experiences. Unlike previous luxury-focused plans, this venture emphasizes stories, street food, bonfires, and unexpected adventures.

McFarland has hinted at his involvement in the hotel experience, despite earlier claims of stepping back. “See you on the island,” he wrote on Instagram.
This announcement follows McFarland’s late April revelation that he was seeking to sell the Fyre Festival brand and allow an independent team to take control. He also alluded to reports of Fyre’s intellectual property being purchased for a music streaming service.
The announcement also follows the indefinite postponement of Fyre Festival 2,originally planned for May 30-June 2 on an island in Mexico. Local officials denied the existence of such a festival.
The original Fyre Festival in 2017 was set to feature performances from blink-182,Major Lazer, and Migos, but was marred by inadequate conditions and a lack of resources,as documented in Netflix’s ”FYRE.”
What’s next
The Fyre Hotels experience aims to provide a unique and adventurous getaway, distancing itself from the luxury aspirations of the original Fyre Festival. Whether it can overcome the negative associations of its predecessor remains to be seen.
