Jack White has returned to the spotlight with the release of two new singles, G.O.D. And The Broken Ribs and Derecho Demonico, which served as a prelude to his appearance as a musical guest on Saturday Night Live on April 4, 2026.

The two tracks were released on April 3, 2026, via White’s Third Man Records. This marks the first new music from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee since the release of his 2024 album, No Name.

Analysis of the New Releases

The new songs showcase different facets of White’s songwriting and production. G.O.D. And The Broken Ribs utilizes classic blues guitar shredding and explores religious themes by imagining Adam and Eve within a post-apocalyptic Garden of Eden.

In this track, White sings, Welcome to the end of the world/ Nobody left but one boy and one girl and one other, and But you know You can’t live like a sister and brother/ They’re gonna make you a mother now.

The second track, Derecho Demonico, which translates to demonic right, is a studio version of a song that White had previously premiered during his No Name tour in 2025.

Both recordings were produced by White and feature his regular live ensemble, consisting of Bobby Emmet on keys, Dominic Davis on bass, and Patrick Keeler on drums.

Saturday Night Live Appearance

The release of the singles coincided with White’s sixth career appearance as a musical guest on Saturday Night Live. During the broadcast on April 4, 2026, he performed both Derecho Demonico and G.O.D. And The Broken Ribs.

White’s history with the program dates back to 2002, when he first appeared as a member of the White Stripes. His subsequent solo appearances occurred in 2012, 2018, and October 2020.

During the October 2020 appearance, White played a guitar designed for him by Eddie Van Halen, who had passed away earlier that same week. His most recent appearance prior to the April 2026 date was in February 2023, where he performed music from his 2022 projects, Entering Heaven Alive and Fear of the Dawn.

Availability and Future Dates

The new singles are available on streaming services. Physical copies were made available on April 4, 2026, in black and tricolour 7-inch vinyl editions through Third Man Records.

These physical releases were initially available at Third Man shops located in London, Detroit, and Nashville, with a wider global release at other record stores scheduled for the following week.

Looking ahead, White is scheduled for a series of performances in Europe beginning in May 2026. His next scheduled appearance in the United States will take place in September 2026 at the Borderland Festival, located outside Buffalo, New York.

Critical Context

These new tracks follow the critical success of No Name. Rolling Stone’s Jon Dolan described the 2024 album as some of the best, most lively garage-blues crunch he’s given us in many many moons.

NME also awarded the album four stars, characterizing it as an ode to the mystique of rock’n’roll and to the joy of music at its most physical and playful.
