Gadgeteer Launches Mixed Reality Update for Quest 3: Create Rube Goldberg Machines in Your Space
Gadgeteer Update for Quest 3: Mixed Reality Support
Gadgeteer, a physics-based puzzle game where players create Rube Goldberg machines, has added mixed reality support for Quest 3. This update is available for free to existing users.
Originally launched five years ago by Metanaut, Gadgeteer has received several updates and ports since its initial release. The new mixed reality mode allows users to construct intricate machines in their actual play spaces using over 100 gadgets. Players can save and load their creations based on their environment.
Peter Kao, Creative Director and CEO of Metanaut, noted that Gadgeteer was envisioned for both augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR). He highlighted that earlier considerations for an AR version on Magic Leap in 2020 made this transition ideal, thanks to advancements in mixed reality technology.
Kao stated, “Gadgeteer is the ideal game for mixed reality. Chain reaction machines rely on using the surrounding environment. With this update, players can now build imaginative machines that interact with their furniture and rooms.”
Currently, Gadgeteer is also available on PSVR, Rift, and Steam. However, the mixed reality update is exclusive to Meta Quest 3. For a glimpse of the new features, view the trailer here.
