Samsung has begun releasing the major One UI 8 update to the Galaxy S24 series in the United States, initially pushing the update to the galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra.
This rollout comes earlier than initially anticipated; Samsung previously indicated updates might not arrive until October.The update is currently available through Verizon, and at least one reader reported receiving the software before public announcement.
Identifying the update
Users can identify the update by looking for the following build numbers: S921USQU4CYI9 (Galaxy S24), S926USQU4CYI9 (Galaxy S24+), and S928USQU4CYI9 (Galaxy S24 Ultra). The Galaxy S24 FE is not yet receiving the update.
What’s New in One UI 8?
The One UI 8 update brings enhancements to the Gallery, wallpapers, Lock Screen, and Galaxy AI features. A detailed changelog is available on your device during the update process. According to Verizon’s change list, the update includes new features in the Gallery, Lock Screen, Wallpapers, and Galaxy AI.
How to Update
To check for the update, navigate to Settings > System updates > Check for system updates. If available, tap “Download now” and follow the on-screen instructions.
