Galp Fuel Discounts: Save Up to 40 Cents Per Liter Until May 15

Galp has introduced fuel discounts ranging from 20 to 40 cents per liter to mitigate the impact of market volatility on consumers. The price reductions are scheduled to remain in effect until May 15, 2026.

According to reports from ECO, Marketeer, and Executive Digest, the company is offering a base discount of 20 cents per liter. In certain instances, these savings may increase to a maximum of 40 cents per liter. The initiative was launched as a direct response to volatility within global energy markets.

Global Energy Pressures

The volatility cited by Galp coincides with a broader global surge in energy costs driven by the war in Iran. The conflict has constrained global oil shipments, leading to increased prices at pumps across multiple regions.

Similar pressures have prompted government intervention in North America. On April 14, 2026, Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney announced that the federal government will suspend the collection of the fuel excise tax on both gasoline and diesel.
