[시사줌뉴스=보도자료] Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province Health and Environment Research Institute has proven itself to be an international-level testing and inspection agency by receiving an excellent score of ‘satisfactory’ in all categories in the regular drinking water field international proficiency test (April 8 – August 22) conducted by the Environmental Resources Association (ERA) of the United States.
The International Proficiency Test is a program in which testing and inspection agencies from around the world participate to evaluate the accuracy and precision of test and inspection results. It is an internationally recognized evaluation method in which testing and analysis capabilities are verified by submitting the results after analyzing unknown samples distributed by a proficiency test hosting agency accredited by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO/IEC).
The Environmental Resources Association (ERA) is an internationally accredited proficiency testing agency recognized by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO/IEC) and the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC), and the world’s leading testing and inspection organizations are participating in the program. This year, the Provincial Health and Environmental Research Institute conducted international proficiency testing on 16 items in the drinking water sector.
Shin In-cheol, director of the Provincial Health and Environment Research Institute, said, “The results of this international proficiency evaluation are recognition worldwide of the excellence of our province’s drinking water testing and inspection capabilities,” and added, “We will continue to actively participate in international proficiency tests to prove the excellence of our testing and analysis capabilities, and do our best to improve the accuracy and precision of analysis data and secure reliability.”
