The ATP Challenger in Tulln offers a multinational starter field-and a phalanx of Austrians.
The first look at the current Acceptance List of the fifth edition of the ATP-100 Challengers, endowed with 145,250 euros, promises great tennis again-the sporting program sporty entertainment for all fans!
The 20 men who have been accepted by the Tennis Club Tulln come from 16 different nations directly for the main competition of the Lower Austria Open Powered by EVN 2025 at Tennisclub Tulln. These include former top 100 stars such as the former number 17 Cristian Garín from Chile, who was able to win the Danube Upper Austria Open powered by SKE in Mauthausen in early May and two weeks later the Challenger in the Portuguese Oeiras and stopped on the “big” ATP tour at five titles. So far, the Bolivian Hugo Dellien-2011 Juniorenchamp of the US Open-has been putting a single winning cup on the sky on the ATP Challenger Tour, most recently the ex-number 64 of the world was successful in Prostejov last June.
The 22-year-old Swiss Dominic Stricker after the US Open 2023 reached his previous career high-ranking place 88, where he was a qualifying sensationally into the round of 16 and was too strong for Alexei Popyrin and Stefanos Tsitsipas. After a long series of injuries and a family cordon nibbling process, the left-hander recently clearly showed herbert in Gstaad in Gstaad with a victory over Pierre-Hugues and only a wafer-thin defeat against top star Casper Ruud.
Neumayer, Schwärzler, Neuchrist, Kopp, Novak, Oberleitner and Co.
Of course, the last year’s winner, the Briton Jan Choinski (ATP 151), and his acclaimed final opponent, the Salzburg Lukas Neumayer (ATP 170), also want to have a say in the Tulln title in 2025. The 22-year-old recently beat the current number 83 in the world in the semifinals of the Challenger in Cordenon, Italy, the Spaniard Carlos Taberner, in an impressive manner before he had to bow to the former top 30 man Dusan Lajovic in the final. At the latest in the garden city, the first title should finally be made! The Colombian Daniel Elahi Galán (ATP 144), two years ago, still wants to get his seventh.
The list of potential cup hamsters at the fifth tournament edition could be continued for a long time and certainly also to extend one or the other interested replacement man behind the current Tullner Top 20 or a player equipped with a wildcard. The latter are ennobled just before the first surcharge on the banks of the Danube by tournament director Florian Leitgeb and ÖTV sports director and davis-cup captain Jürgen Melzer in a triple pack for the main competition grid and just join 20 after their ranking after fixed starters, six successful qualifiers, two so-called special exhibits and a successful younger Nextgen-Accelerator program of the ATP.
From whatever position, it is also keen on the Lower Austria Open Powered by Evn 2025, a whole Phalanx of Austrians such as Joel Schwärzler, Maximilian Neuchrist, Sandro Kopp, Dennis Novak or Neil Oberleitner, who recently could penetrate with Schwärzler at the ATP-25th event from Kitzbühel to the double final. “If you will ultimately open with us, you can of course not yet say with a 100 % certainty. Many top players make their coming dependent on the performance in the qualification and the first week of the US Open. But the Acceptance List makes it clear that there is a lot of interest. In international player circles, our tournament has developed an excellent call to the fans through the excellent hospitality, hospitality and the fans Florian Leitgeb.
