Gaza Freedom flotilla: Diplomat Resigns Over Gaza Policy, Joins March

Rharrit, a veteran of 18 ‌years in the⁣ State Department, will join over 3,000 people from 50 countries in a march from Cairo to Rafah, advocating for an end to the gaza siege.

The Gaza Freedom Flotilla, which aimed to ‌challenge the israeli siege on Gaza, has faced repercussions. Israeli authorities have arrested eight ‌international activists who refused deportation, including Rima Hassan, a French Palestinian member of the European Parliament. Greta Thunberg, a Swedish⁣ activist who was part of the flotilla, has already been deported and arrived in Paris.

Rharrit emphasized the importance of taking action against injustice, stating that silence only allows it ⁣to spread. She expressed disillusionment with what she described as “institutionalized corruption”⁣ within the U.S. government, alleging ⁢that it profits from⁢ war and genocide. rharrit highlighted the dire situation in Gaza, where civilians face⁤ starvation and bombardment, necessitating action beyond mere words.
