22 Palestinians, including children, were killed on Saturday at the Israeli army fire in several areas in the Gaza Strip, according to the civil defense and medical sources.
A spokesman for the civil defense, Mahmoud Bellas, told AFP that the heavy shelling has been continuing for nearly a week in the Al -Zaytoun neighborhood of Gaza City in the northern Gaza Strip.
“Our estimates are that more than 50 thousand citizens are still living in the Al -Zaytoun neighborhood of Gaza City, most of them without food or water,” he said, adding, “What is happening in the Al -Zaytoun neighborhood is ethnic cleansing and a real extermination war.”
He also pointed to a similar situation in the Tal Al -Hawa area in Gaza, continuing that the Civil Defense Forces are unable to reach these areas to evacuate the injured.
“We do not know the taste of sleep. The explosions are caused by the bombing of warplanes, and the tanks do not stop,” said Ghassan Kisko, 40, who lives with his family at a displaced school in the Al -Zaytoun neighborhood.
He added, “In the Zaytoun neighborhood, the Israeli army is exterminating, and we have no food and no drinking water.”
The Ministry of Interior, affiliated with Hamas, warned of “the risks of the implications of escalation in the Israeli aggression in Gaza City.” A source in the ministry told France Press that the Israeli land military operation is “continuous in the Zaytoun and Tal Al -Hawa regions in the south of Gaza City,” noting that the army destroyed “dozens of homes and bulldozing roads and buildings.”
On the other hand, Bella said that at least nine Palestinians were killed and more than 30 others were wounded by Israeli army fire near two aid center in the south and northern Gaza Strip.
The army enforced two air strikes on Al -Bureij camp in the center of the Gaza Strip and the Al -Mawasi area in the southern Gaza Strip, killing six Palestinians, including three children, according to Balsal.
Al -Awda Hospital in Al -Nasserat camp said that five of the dead people who targeted their house in Al -Bureij are “a father, a mother and their three children, and there are burned bodies and body parts.”
The Civil Defense also reported the killing of a Palestinian fisherman, “with the fire of the occupation boats near the beach of the Gaza City at dawn.”
The humanitarian crisis is getting worse day after day in the besieged Palestinian sector, which has been witnessing a 22 -month war between Hamas and Israel.
The Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip announced on Saturday that it recorded “11 deaths, including a child during the past twenty -four hours as a result of famine and malnutrition,” noting that by this it increases to “251 deaths, including 108 children” the number of victims of famine and malnutrition.
The United Nations warns that all sector population is threatened with famine. Israel denies the existence of famine.
The war erupted in the Strip after an unprecedented attack on Hamas on the seventh of October 2023 on southern Israel, killing 1,219 people, most of them civilians, according to a census of Agence France -Presse based on official statements.
Since the start of the war, the Israeli military attacks and operations have resulted in the killing of at least 61,827 people, the majority of them civilians, according to the Hamas Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip, numbers that the United Nations considers reliable.
