Great Britain wins Gold in Stunning 4x100m Relay Finish

Success Eduan delivered a remarkable final leg in her senior international debut, propelling great Britain to gold in the women’s 4x100m relay at the World Relay Championships in Guangzhou, China.the british team, also featuring Nia Wedderburn-Goodison, Amy hunt, and Bianca Williams, finished in 42.21 seconds.
Eduan, a 20-year-old midwifery student at the University of Salford, overtook both Shericka Jackson of Jamaica and Maria Perez of Spain in the final stretch. Spain finished second in 42.28 seconds, while Jamaica, with Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, took third in 42.33 seconds.
Great Britain also secured a bronze medal in the mixed 4x100m relay.The team of Asha Philip, Kissiwaa Mensah, Jeriel Quainoo, and Joe Ferguson completed the race in 40.88 seconds. Canada won the event in 40.30 seconds, followed by Jamaica in 40.44 seconds. The United States set a championship record in the mixed 4x400m with a time of 3 minutes, 09.54 seconds.
“I did not think too much of [the] others, I just knew that if I gave my all, it would come out all right,” Eduan said. “I have a mentality of a winner… I am going to give my all and I’m going to pass them and I’m going to win. And we did that.”
South Africa dominated the men’s events, winning gold in both the 4x100m in 37.61 seconds and the 4x400m in 2 minutes,57.50 seconds. Spain also took gold in the women’s 4x400m with a time of 3 minutes, 24.13 seconds.
Jamaica’s struggles in the 4x100m continued as they failed to qualify for the 2025 World Championships in Tokyo, Japan. After dropping the baton in Saturday’s heat, they missed a second chance on Sunday when Julian Forte was injured during the race.
