GC Super Cup Opening Round Summary – November 20
On November 20, the GC Super Cup kicked off in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Ten teams competed for eight spots in the Semi-Final.
The Monaco Aces and Madrid in Motion were eliminated from the competition. The top four teams from the regular season—Cannes Stars, Riesenbeck International, Stockholm Hearts, and Doha Falcons—will return for Day 2.
The Rome Gladiators secured second place with a score of 4, thanks to clear rounds from Kyle Timm (Casino Calvin) and Lorenzo de Luca (Denver de Talma). Valkenswaard United followed in third place, finishing with a score of 8, with clears from Gilles Thomas (Luna Van Het Dennehof) and Marcus Ehning (Coolio 42).
The standout performance came from the Shanghai Swans. Ben Maher (Point Break), Max Kühner (Elektric Blue P), and Daniel Deusser (Killer Queen VDM) achieved a historic triple-clear performance. This marked the first time a team completed a zero score in GC Super Cup Quarter Finals history.
Deusser expressed satisfaction with the team’s strong showing. Maher noted they came with experienced horses to tackle the challenges ahead.
Looking forward, Christian Ahlmann will join the Swans in the Semi-Final. The three will aim to build on their success and carry their momentum forward.
The Semi-Final presents a fresh start for all teams, as everyone begins with a score of zero. The competition will commence at 20:10 local time tomorrow, and excitement is building as the teams prepare to showcase their skills.
