Gen.G Seizes the Upper Hand: Dominant 2nd Set Win Puts Them in the Driver’s Seat for LCK Finals
Gen.G Esports Takes Down Hanwha Life Esports in Thrilling 2nd Set Match
Gen.G Esports, the defending champions, made a stunning comeback in the second set against Hanwha Life Esports, bringing the game back to square one.
The match took place at the Gyeongju Indoor Gymnasium in Gyeongju-si, Gyeongsangbuk-do, as part of the 2024 LOL Champions Korea (LCK) Summer Split Playoff Final.
Gen.G employed a ‘double gun’ combination with Ash Corky, similar to their strategy in the first set. Meanwhile, Hanwha Life Insurance created a strong synergy with the appointment of ’Ivern’ and ‘Azeer’, led by Hanva Life. They also deployed three players to catch Kim Ki-in’s ‘Orun’.
Gen.G actively engaged in small skirmishes using ‘Lehenz’ Son Si-woo’s ‘Blitzcrank’. By continuously winning battles, Gen.G widened the global gold gap.
Although Hanwa Life made good decisions and cut down the dragon stack, they struggled to gain momentum in the game.
In the 36th minute, Gen.G captured Choi “Doran” Hyun-jun’s “Rennecon” and Kim “Zeka” Geon-woo’s ”Azir”, earning the Hextech Dragon’s Soul and Baron buff.
Two minutes later, Gen.G destroyed Hanwa Life’s Nexus with a powerful breakthrough, bringing the game back to square one.
