The Rise of YONO: Minimal Consumption in the Era of High Interest Rates

High interest rates and prices have led to a shift in consumer behavior, with 71.7% of Generation Z members opting for minimal consumption, or ‘You Only Need One’ (YONO). This trend has increased attention on credit cards that offer maximum accumulation for consumption.

Shinhan Card Point Plan Plus: An Upgraded Version of the Existing Point Plan Card

The Shinhan Card Point Plan Plus provides the same ‘Daily Living Expenses Accumulation Service’ as the existing Point Plan card, with varying point accumulation rates depending on the amount used at domestic affiliated stores.

Point Accumulation Rates

  • 30,000 won to 100,000 won: 1.0%

When using Shinhan SOL Pay, an additional 0.5% is accumulated, and when using overseas stores, 1% is accumulated regardless of the amount or payment method.

Monthly Accumulation Limit

The monthly accumulation limit for the ‘Daily Living Expenses Accumulation Service’ varies depending on the previous month’s usage amount:

  • 400,000 won or more but less than 800,000 won: 10,000 points
  • 800,000 won or more but less than 1.2 million won: 30,000 points
  • 1.2 million won or more: 50,000 points

In May and December, the accumulation limit is increased by 10,000 points.

Additional Benefits

When spending more than 20,000 won at a restaurant or through a delivery app on the weekend, 1,000 My Shinhan Points can be earned up to 5 times a month. Regular payments for city gas, electricity, and telecommunications can also earn 1,000 My Shinhan Points per 20,000 won, up to a maximum of 10,000 points.

For young people who like to stay at home, a service that gives up to 2,000 My Shinhan Points when spending over 7,000 won on OTT subscriptions such as Netflix, YouTube Premium, and Tving is also available.

The annual fee for this card is 30,000 won for domestic use only and 33,000 won for overseas use (Visa). Visa Platinum services such as hotel valet service and airport valet service are also provided.
