Panel Tackles Violence Against women in Congo, Nigeria
A virtual panel convened by Citizens for Global Solutions, Trinity Washington University, and the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur, examined violence against women and girls in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Nigeria. Participants explored obstacles to justice and considered enhanced implementation of the Beijing declaration to achieve transformative solutions for gender equality and women’s empowerment. The panel took an intergenerational approach, uniting youth and experienced women’s rights advocates from the U.S., DR Congo, and Nigeria to confront gender-specific violence and promote justice.
