Schaffhausen, Switzerland – IWC Schaffhausen and Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One™ Team driver George Russell unveiled a collaboration today, February 5, 2026, resulting in two limited-edition Pilot’s Watches. The new timepieces, a chronograph and an automatic model, are crafted from black zirconium oxide ceramic and feature accents in Russell’s signature blue colorway.

The partnership marks a continuation of IWC’s long-standing relationship with the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team, which began in 2013. While IWC has previously collaborated with drivers like Lewis Hamilton, this is the first time the Swiss watchmaker has created signature models with George Russell.

Both the Pilot’s Watch Chronograph 41 George Russell and the Pilot’s Watch Automatic 41 George Russell are limited to 1,064 pieces each. The watches incorporate Russell’s driver number, 63, as an engraving. Russell, who joined Mercedes in 2022, has quickly established himself as a prominent figure in Formula 1, regularly competing with the sport’s top drivers.

The Pilot’s Watch Automatic 41 George Russell (ref. IW328107) measures 41mm in diameter, and 11.4mm thick. It is powered by the IWC-manufactured automatic calibre 32112, which operates at 28,800 vph and boasts a 120-hour power reserve. The watch also includes a date function.

Russell expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration, stating, “It has been an unforgettable experience working with IWC Schaffhausen’s creative team on the design of my first-ever limited-edition watches. By incorporating my signature blue colour that has accompanied me during most of my career as a racing driver, as well as my 63 Logo, these watches feel truly personal and unique to me. These two limited-edition Pilot’s Watch pieces are reflective of where my journey has taken me so far and of what I have been able to achieve on and off the race track.”

The design choices reflect Russell’s personal branding, particularly his shift to a cyan blue tone for his racing helmet after initially using black. This signature blue is prominently featured as an accent color on both watch models, including the straps.

Franziska Gsell, Chief Marketing Officer at IWC Schaffhausen, highlighted the significance of the collaboration, saying, “Since 2013, we have enjoyed a close relationship not only with the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team, but also with the team’s drivers. It was an honour to collaborate with George Russell to bring his vision of a bold sports watch to life. These special editions truly capture his spirit as a person and gifted driver.”

The release of these watches comes ahead of the 2026 Formula One season, a year anticipated to bring significant changes with a new set of regulations. Russell recently participated in private testing in Barcelona from January 26 to January 30, expressing a positive outlook on the car’s initial performance.

“It’s been another decent day and a positive shakedown for us here in Barcelona,” Russell said following the testing. “The car feels nice to drive but more importantly, we’ve completed plenty of mileage and had no major issues. The minor issues we’ve come across we’ve been able to resolve which is the purpose of such running.”

While optimistic about the car’s feel, Russell cautioned that a true assessment of its competitiveness will have to wait until the season opener in Bahrain. “The car is working well but we know that it is not about the car working well, it’s about how fast it can go. We don’t have any indication of that yet so we will have to wait until Bahrain until we get any indications of the relative pecking order. It’s very early days but People can be pleased with this initial foundation we have put in place.”

Russell finished fourth in the drivers’ standings in 2025 and is aiming to contend for the championship in the upcoming season. The new IWC Pilot’s Watches represent a celebration of his achievements and a symbol of his ambition as he enters a pivotal year in his Formula One career.

The case of the Pilot’s Watch Automatic 41 George Russell features black ceramic construction, while the winding crown is crafted from Ceratanium, an IWC-exclusive material known for its hardness and matte-black finish. The black dial features text and markings executed in Russell’s signature aqua blue.
