Georgia Tennant, married to Scottish actor David Tennant, confessed she had preconceived notions about him when they first met. Their paths crossed when Georgia played the Doctor’s genetically engineered daughter in “Doctor Who,” where David starred as the Doctor.
Georgia, whose father Peter Davison also played the Doctor, married David in 2011. David adopted her son, Ty, and they now have four more children: olive, Wilfred, Doris, and Birdie. In an interview with The Sunday Times, Georgia Tennant recalled their first encounter in a cafe, where David was dressed as the Doctor.
“He bounded in,” she said. “Initially, I thought, oh, he’s going to be a wanker, because that’s my slight default position with the number one on the call sheets.”
Evidently, her initial impression was wrong. The couple has been married for 14 years.Last December, David surprised Georgia with a “G” tattoo on his wrist for her 40th birthday. Georgia Tennant also joked about saying, “He played my dad,” to make her husband feel older and herself younger.
she also discussed their advocacy for transgender rights, stating, “I want all my children to grow up in a world where they can be who they are…without judgement or fear or attack.”
Georgia Tennant currently stars in the second season of The Horne Section TV Show on Channel 4.
David Tennant recently revealed he had hoped to play Reed Richards, also known as Mister Fantastic, in Marvel’s Fantastic Four. He mentioned at MCM Comic Con in London that the role went to pedro Pascal. ”Even though if it has to be someone, I’m happy for it to be Pedro Pascal, frankly,” Tennant said.
