gerard Pique’s Kings League, the seven-a-side soccer league known for its innovative rules, is setting its sights on expansion into the United States. The move is being driven by Pique’s business acumen and the recent hiring of Djamel Agaoua as CEO.
Agaoua, who joined the Kings League in October 2024, is tasked with helping the league achieve its aspiring goals, starting with establishing a presence in the US, according to Pique and Agaoua.
Both Pique and Agaoua emphasized that the Kings League is not intended to rival traditional soccer but rather to offer a complementary product. “We don’t compete with soccer, but we wont to create a product that is complementary,” Agaoua said.
