The German women’s biathlon team finished just off the podium in the final race of the World cup event in Oberhof on January 7, 2024. Sweden’s Elvira Öberg won the race, securing a start-to-finish victory. Franziska Preuß was the top German finisher, placing fifth.
Preuß, the defending overall World Cup champion, completed the race with two penalties, finishing 16 seconds behind the podium. She finished 1 minute and 20.7 seconds behind Öberg. Finnish biathlete Suvi Korhonen finished second, and Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold of Norway placed third.
