Dortmund: Herr Walter
In Dortmund, the freight ship “Herr Walter” transforms into a summer beach hotspot. The 60-meter ship provides ample sun decks with harbor views. An admission fee of €3 applies. Ruhr24.de describes it as “partying on an old ship with a view of cranes, water, the sunset, and a cool crowd. It’s got character. It’s urban,relaxed,and really charming.”
Hamburg: Övelgönne Beach (Elbstrand)
hamburg’s Elbstrand, near Övelgönne, is a public beach in the heart of a major port. Accessible by bus or ferry, it features beach bars and restaurants. Barbecuing is permitted in designated areas, and camping is possible. Visitors can watch container ships from their sleeping bags.

Berlin: Wannsee Lido (Strandbad Wannsee)
