Hangzhou Daily News: Recently, the much-anticipated Huanbei Fitness Park opened to the public, becoming another iconic leisure and fitness venue in the Wulin business district. This fitness park, which covers an area of nearly 5 acres, not only carries the memory of the city’s changes, but also exudes vitality with a new look, providing a multifunctional space integrating sports, leisure and entertainment for surrounding residents and tourists.
Once upon a time, this was the Bailu Shoes City, a well-known shoe wholesale market in the province and even the country. With the development and changes of the city, Bailu Shoes City withdrew from the stage of history 8 years ago, leaving behind a piece of land to be redeveloped. In recent years, many nearby residents have reported to the community that it is a pity that such an idle green space is not being used in the Wulin business district where every inch of land is valuable. In response to the expectations of residents, Tianshui Street launched an urban renewal project last year. Relying on the power of party building and joint construction, it joined hands with Hangzhou Bus Company, China Telecom Hangzhou Branch Gongshu Branch and other units to decide to awaken this dormant land and transform it into an embedded sports venue – Huanbei Fitness Park.
The design of Huanbei Fitness Park fully considers the diversified needs of residents. The overall color scheme is mainly blue and khaki, which is youthful and dynamic. Badminton courts, table tennis courts, jogging tracks and children’s play areas are set up inside the park to meet the fitness and entertainment needs of people of different ages.
In the past, Aunt Zhang, who lives in Huanbei New Village, had to walk to Wanxiang Park to rehearse square dancing. Now, with the completion of Huanbei Fitness Park, Aunt Zhang happily said: “Now there is such a great fitness park at my doorstep, which makes it much more convenient to rehearse square dancing!”
Huanbei Fitness Park not only meets the fitness and leisure needs of surrounding residents and tourists, but also effectively radiates the seven communities within the jurisdiction of Tianshui Street with its superior geographical location.
