Ansan City Offers Free Influenza Vaccinations to Eligible Citizens
Ansan City, led by Mayor Lee Min-geun, has announced that it will provide free influenza vaccinations to eligible citizens from September 20th to April 30th of next year.
Eligible Groups for Free Vaccinations
The free vaccination target groups include:
- Children aged 6 months to 13 years (born between January 1, 2011 and August 31, 2024)
- Pregnant women
- Seniors aged 65 years and older (born before December 31, 1959)
Vaccination Schedule
The city plans to administer vaccinations sequentially by target group and age group to prevent overcrowding during a certain period. The vaccination schedule is as follows:
- Children between 6 months and 9 years of age: September 20th
- Children between 9 and 13 years of age: October 2nd
- Pregnant women: October 2nd (regardless of the number of weeks of pregnancy)
- Seniors aged 75 and older: October 11th
- Seniors aged 70 to 74: October 15th
- Seniors aged 65 to 69: October 18th
Required Documents for Vaccination
To get vaccinated, pregnant women must bring the following documents:
- Maternal health record book
- Pregnancy confirmation
- Pregnancy diagnosis
- Doctor’s opinion
Additional Vaccination Program for Vulnerable Groups
The city is also implementing a free influenza vaccination program for vulnerable groups as a local government project. The target groups include:
- Ansan citizens who are not eligible for national vaccinations
- Basic livelihood recipients (ages 50–64)
- Severely disabled individuals (ages 14–64)
Those eligible can visit a designated medical institution in Ansan City from October 18 to December 31 to get vaccinated after receiving the individual vaccination guide mailed by the public health center in early October.
