Get Ready for a New Era: Kakao Games Unveils Highly-Anticipated ‘ArcheAge Chronicles’ at Sony’s Exclusive Release Announcement Event
ArcheAge Chronicles Revealed at Sony’s State of Play Event
Kakao Games has unveiled the online action RPG ’ArcheAge Chronicles’ at Sony PlayStation’s new product announcement event ‘State of Play’. This game is the next work developed by XL Games and published by Kakao Games, and was previously known as ‘ArcheAge 2’.
Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) strengthened its lineup of PS platforms by revealing several new games at its “State of Play” event held on the 25th. “ArcheAge Chronicles,” which was revealed at the beginning of the event, expresses the background of the previous “ArcheAge” in a vast open world and combines fast-paced and dynamic action RPG elements. You can experience an immersive, cinematic story that unfolds from the player’s perspective, along with an ever-changing story. In addition, an economic system that allows players to build their own homes and engage in various production activities has been introduced, creating a player-driven game environment. Community functions have also been strengthened, allowing players to cooperate with other players and enjoy adventures together. The game is scheduled to be released on PC and console platforms in 2025.
At the same event, domestic game developer Shift Up announced the release of the official soundtrack for ‘Stella Blade’, which was released exclusively for PS5 in April. It also revealed plans to release a collaborative DLC with ‘NieR: Automata’ within the year.
A surprise reveal was made for Ghost of Yotei, the sequel to Ghost of Tsushima, which was released in 2020. The game is an action game set on Mount Yotei in Hokkaido during the Edo shogunate in Japan in 1603, and is being developed by Sucker Punch Productions, an American developer under Sony.
Capcom has confirmed the release date for its highly anticipated Monster Hunter Wilds for February 28, 2025, Electronic Arts (EA) has revealed The Veilguard, the sequel to the Dragon Age series after 10 years, and Koei Tecmo has revealed Shin Sangokumusou Origins.
