iPhone 16 Pro: Expected Features and Upgrades
The iPhone 16 Pro, which is likely to be released on the 9th, is expected to have its base storage increased to 256GB (gigabytes). It is reported that it will be equipped with a tetraprism periscope lens, which was only included in the Pro Max model in the previous (iPhone 15) series.
Taiwan TrendForce reported this after compiling information related to the iPhone launch. This is the first time Apple has eliminated the 128GB option from the Pro lineup, not the Pro Max. The starting price of the iPhone 16 Pro is estimated to be 1.7 million won.
Tetraprism Periscope Lens: A New Feature in iPhone 16 Pro
The iPhone 16 Pro is expected to be the first to adopt a tetraprism periscope lens. This lens works on the principle that the light received within the module is bent four times and transmitted to the image sensor. It can implement a long focal length even in a narrow area, enabling high-magnification optical zoom photography.
TrendForce analyzed, “(When the iPhone 15 was released) Apple raised the price by installing an expensive lens module,” and “If the minimum capacity is raised to 256GB, it can pass on the cost to consumers and dilute the impression of the price increase.”
Screen Size and Refresh Rate: What to Expect
There is analysis that the screen size will also be larger than the previous model. The iPhone 16 Pro will increase from 6.1 inches to 6.3 inches, and the iPhone 16 Pro Max will increase from 6.7 inches to 6.9 inches. It will be the largest screen size in iPhone history.
However, the regular iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus are expected to maintain the same 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch sizes as their predecessors. The promotional feature that supports a screen refresh rate of up to 120Hz will also be applied only to the Pro lineup.
