The Japan Rugby Football Union is excited to host a special event, “Hear, See, Touch! First Rugby,” to kick off the 27th Women’s Rugby Football Kansai Tournament. This event is designed to introduce newcomers to the world of rugby, with a variety of activities and experiences that are fun for all ages.
Event Highlights
- Rugby Kamishibai performance by Kamishibai artist Yam-chan (Kiite)
- Warm-up tour to get you ready for the game
- Escort kids experience, where children can participate in a rugby-themed activity (advance application required)
- Free admission to the event, with no age or gender restrictions
- Participating players will present an ”upcycled rugby ball” made from leftover leather to the escort kids after the match
Event Schedule
November 17th (Sunday)
- 9:40 – Gather and reception (Artificial Grass Side)
- 10:00 – Kamishibai “Rugby Story” performance (Indoor)
- 10:40 – Warm-up tour
- 10:50 - Escort kids experience (Target: All genders, up to 3rd year junior high school students)
- 11:00 – Game viewing: Game 1 – “Godo A vs. Kyushu/Nagato” Kickoff
- 12:30 – After the match, players will give away an “upcycled rugby ball” and the game ends
