3,370 Works Compete for the “Golden Dolphin Award” at the 16th Xiamen International Animation Festival
The 16th Xiamen International Animation Festival will be held in November, featuring a record-breaking 3,370 entries from 40 countries and regions.
The competition attracted active participation from animation creators worldwide, with 3,090 domestic works and 280 foreign works. This represents a 27% increase in total entries and a 20% increase in foreign works compared to the previous year.
The “Golden Dolphin Award” animation competition offers a total of 11 awards, including 8 animation awards and 3 comics awards, with a total prize of 1.3 million yuan. This year’s competition features two new awards: “Short Video Animation” and “Commercial Animation.”
The award ceremony will take place in Xiamen on November 22, where the winners of various awards will be announced. Related activities, such as work screenings and the “Golden Dolphin Night” exchange meeting, will also be held.
The “Golden Dolphin Award” competition is hosted by the Xiamen Municipal People’s Government and co-organized by the China Branch of the International Animation Association. It has become one of the Chinese animation competitions with the highest prize money and the widest influence, and it is also the only demonstration event in China recognized by the International Animation Association (ASIFA).
The Golden Dolphin Animation and Game Carnival will be held at the Xiamen International Expo Center from November 2 to 3. This year’s event will feature professional exhibitors, popular cosplayers, voice actors, and innovative content to present more excitement to animation fans.
